Thirty years of glass, technology and trust.

01 — The beginning

1994–2000

Laying the foundations

DAKS-96 began in 1994 as the exclusive representative of the Bor Glass Works, supplying flat float glass to the construction industry. Just one year later, the company built its own 1,200 m² glass warehouse, the first privately owned facility of its kind in Bulgaria.

In the years that followed, DAKS-96 formed strategic partnerships with international manufacturers including AGC, Pilkington, TREMCO and Bohle. These relationships helped shape the company’s expertise, partner network and technological direction for the decades ahead.

02 — From trading to manufacturing

2000–2007

Turning expertise into technology

The new millennium marked a major shift. DAKS-96 expanded its range to include glass processing machinery, tools and technology and began developing its own warehouses, offices and production facilities.

Construction of a glass and mirror processing facility began in 2005. A year later, it was equipped with machinery from international manufacturers. DAKS-96 also expanded its presence by partnering with Sisecam and the newly built Trakya Glass plant. By 2007, the Sofia warehouse and production facility covered 3,500 m².

03 — A new scale of manufacturing

2011–2017

Expanding our capabilities

In the next phase, DAKS-96 significantly expanded its production capacity. The company opened warehouses outside Sofia and introduced production lines for cutting, edging, laminating and tempering, along with CNC machining.

Within a few years, the company added equipment for frosting, drilling, painting and screen printing, along with automated glass processing systems. In 2017, DAKS-96 expanded its Sofia facility and opened a new warehouse in Burgas.

04 — Industrial capacity

2019–2022

More technology. More possibilities.

DAKS-96 continued to invest in automation, productivity and precision. The company added new CNC machines, automated drilling, edging and laminating systems, vertical and horizontal glass washers, and specialist processing equipment.

In 2022, the company expanded its capabilities further with waterjet cutting, new CNC technology and a fully automated line for insulating glass units. By this stage, DAKS-96 had built a full-scale manufacturing operation around glass processing.

05 — Building for the future

2023–2025

Investing in efficiency, precision and sustainability

DAKS-96 invested beyond the production floor, bringing in specialist transport, digital tools and energy-efficiency measures alongside new equipment. The fleet gained purpose-built glass transport vehicles, while production gained new CNC technology and automated systems.

In 2025, the company introduced a solar power installation, a template digitisation system and a new automated cutting line for monolithic and laminated glass. These investments support more efficient and sustainable production.

The results in numbers

Three decades on, DAKS-96 continues to expand its capabilities. In 2026, the company added a new high-speed edging machine with integration into the insulating glass line, alongside technology for laser engraving, frosting and glass cutting.

Over the past 10 years, DAKS-96 supplied 200,000 tonnes of glass. That is equivalent to more than 9,500 truckloads, or over 20 million square metres of 4 mm glass. The company fulfilled more than 175,000 orders over the same period.
